Re: Your favorite Antique/Flea market finds

I found a Strouds Cream ale at a flea market in Portland, ME. The dealer had a bunch of cans and all were priced at $10 each.

Picked up a small collection of full bottles

These came from a facebook post. A couple was clearing out their grandfathers house and listed these bottles. The grandfather collected from the late 1930's through the early 50's and then an uncle continued to add. There are some killer labels in this collection of 46 bottles.

Can cleaning

I just picked up this national bohemian mug. When I got it it was dirty so I washed it with Dawn dish soap. When I dried the can all this white residue started to appear. What is the best way to remove this residue?

Most authentic cone top lighters have a sticker attached to the back of the can or on the bottom.

I was supposed to meet a guy in St Louis today to see some cans he had for sale. I get an e-mail last night that the cans had been sold. He had a Bluebonnet cone with great color and no oxidation to the gold, Pilsers cone, Altes cone, Griesedieck Crowntainer and a Hudepohl cone for $400. I'd been ta...

The White Horse table/chair can find is chronicled in the Feb/Mar 2015 Beer Cans and Brewery Collectibles magazine. Here are a couple of photos.

I just received this can from Jim Hall. I had one back in the 80's but sold my collection. It is nice to have one back on the shelf.

In addition to Cone Top lighters, I also collect cone top can/mugs. These are cans that were given out during promotions or if a keg of beer was bought. These cans have factory applied handles and rolled lips. I know there is a Schmidts Premium Beer cone mug but I haven't been able to get ahold of o...

One of my many side collections is Cone Top Lighters. Below are photos of what I have so far. It's been awhile since I added a can to this collection. Does anyone out there have something I might be able to add to this endeavor? IMG_3605.JPG IMG_3606.JPG IMG_3607.JPG IMG_3609.JPG IMG_3610.JPG

I just created a Facebook page dedicated to the Steinie bottle. I'd like to see photos of what steinies other collectors have in their collections and I think that would be a good place to post them. Here is the link:

I found a 1905 Encased Penny advertising Porto Rico coffee. I paid $2.00 for it. I put it on eBay and it sold to a collector in Puerto Rico for $169.99. He said it was a very rare piece. Found in the middle of nowhere New Mexico.

I picked up my first "Encased Coin" about 15 years ago when I was collecting Ballantine cans. It was a Ballantine Victory/World Piece encased penny from 1945. Since then I've found these encased coins from 21 different breweries. My latest acquisition is a 1916 coin from the Providence Bre...
