Can't remember the brand, but bought a 6-pk of some micro brew, and the lid opened like a tennis ball can.

Impatiently Waiting for My New Collection Room
I've been collecting for more than 40 years, seriously for the past 30, and in all that time, I've only had cans on the wall for three years  Living in an apartment across from the Air Force Academy (so beautiful here) in Colorado Springs waiting for our house to be built, which should be finis...

Dale forgot about a Chief dump, but rembers exactly where it is
Usually the dump lead is:
"There are tons of cans, Log Cabin, Ft Sutter, and a bunch with the pointy tops.... but I can't remeber where it is"

Re: Buffed Rims
If you are going to dip them in acid, it is better to wire wheel the rims and seam.
After you dip, they are not shiny, but clean and free of crusted rust.
If you are not going to dip, then it becomes a can by can call.
Super shiny rims on a grade 3 dumper looks stupid

Met Scott and Mike Murphy years ago at a Spokane show, and when I went out to a Denver
show the next year, they really looked out for me.
I suppose now thousands of Lucky flats with Scott's birthday will show up.

Re: This might help you mail a box more cheaply
If you are shipping single cans, ULINE sells 4X4X6 boxes for around 30 cents each.
Also, many shippers seem to love priority shipping. A single can can ship across the
country via first class much cheaper in these single can boxes.

Re: Cheapest way to ship big box of rust ?
I ship a lot of larger items and shipping on those has definately gone up.
Best bet is to just pack it up, measue dimensions, and get a weight
(hold package on bathroom scale if you have to)
Then just go online to USPS, Fedex & UPS and use their shipping
estimators to get an idea which is best.

some of the "haze" will definately cleap up, and the color of the rust will look better with the rusty colored oxided removed. Yes, still going to have some rest left, but it will be darker and cleaner looking. clean the rims/seam b4 soaking. I would clean it, but I have lots of experience...

Re: How to ship cans
Why does anyone ship one can Priority?
Why pay extra for basically the same service / delivery time?
Also on th ebubble wrap, if you tape it with painters masking tape,
it is easier for the next guy to reuse instead of having to tear off the
packing tape.

I sent the seller a message on the Brownie can.
His defense was that in the listing info, he stated "repair work" which
he obviously thinks includes paintover.
When I tried to explain the diff, he stated that the lettering and graphics were
not painted over.
I gave up after that.

Re: Another Old Union
Couple of things that work for me. I don't use acid to clean the dirt off. It isn't that hard to empty the cans of dirt and clean them with water and a toothbrush before you dip them in acid. It weakens your acid solution when you dip cans with a bunch of dirt / rust / etc that you can clean off in ...

The river was always there, and cans have been found along it below the dam and beyond, but I bet some good stuff
got flooded with some of the small communities, homesteads, etc. when the lake was filled, just like Lake Shasta.

Re: Portland CANvention Dumping with Team Gold-Style
Here's the best Oldstyle out of the find. I could probably still do a little work on the rims.... IMG_3532.JPG If you do that work on the rims (with a wire wheel) to remove the build-up on the rims and seam, BEFORE you dip the can, it actually comes out looking pretty good. Takes some practice to n...

The close-up of that bag shows SEVERAL blank cans. What idiot would even include those?
They are collectible why?
And it just goes to show how people want a quick buck for no effort.
Sell the individual cans and make much more.
