Re: I may be running for the BCCA Board...Need input

Charlie, you have my vote. Edward, I don't know you but I like your posts and I'd to see you on the Board too. Some new ideas for the Club will be good for us all. If the old guard wants to remain involved, welcome them. The more people working together, the better. It's a great club and I hope it l...

Re: Is Room to Room a dying thing?

Room to room was decent for us, but the rooms were spread out. Maybe the club can convince the Dallas Hotel to set aside a block of rooms for people who request RTR? If the open rooms were all on one or two or three floors, it would be easier to find the open rooms.

Home Brew Question

My son has started making home brewed beer. His birthday is coming up and I was hoping to get some suggestions on brew related presents, maybe even with a hyper link. Thanks in advance.

Re: Let's see what you have picked up this year.

My avatar can is new this year. It came from a fellow collector who knows I collect Peoria Pabst cans. It was full. I used a small nail to punch two small holes in the bottom lid and poured it into a glass. It formed a very nice head and had a nutty aroma. Regrettably it had quite a few floaters, so...

Re: Where's the Gibbons Bock?

I was the second highest bidder on the Meister Brau Bock at the Grenke auction. The same can showed up on EBay with the Old Chicago. If the theory is correct that these cans weren't paid for following the auction, I can confirm that second highest bidders weren't contacted by Morphy's. My guess is t...

I took the Stark example when it became available. I've only ever seen two others. Congrats on finding a sleeper but I'd bet you'll keep turning them. It's a hard habit to break.

Re: Grenke catalogue

I pre-ordered, paid forty bucks, then saw them offering 20 dollars off at NABA. Now I get it after everyone else. And what's this about a poster? Are they trying to make me feel bad? It's not a good way to sell cans. Sorry to vent, but I sure would have liked to get a catalog by now.

I can't seem to find a price to just walk around, maybe it's free. It's $10 for a table if you're registered and $30 if you're not. I know it's open to the public, so come on over.

NABA Convention

The NABA Convention is underway in Springfield, Illinois. If you live within a reasonable drive, you owe it to yourself to make the trip. Most of these guys collect things other than cans, but there are cans too. I've seen some really great lithos, neons and smalls. The Hospitality Room is great too...

Re: For No apparent REASON..

I went through the same thing. I sold off or gave away about three quarters of my collection. I kept the Illinois cans and a few other favorites. Then I did very little with the hobby for about a year. Over time I started up again. It was good for me. I enjoyed the hobby even more when I came back. ...

Re: To wax or not to wax?

A light coat of high quality wax is a good choice for top condition cans. When I do that I always have a toothpick available to clean out the seams and rims. It isn't as good a choice for cans that have some flaws, especially anything with rough spots. Another time to leave the wax in the cabinet is...

Pool Table Cover Needed

Does anyone have a pool table cover for a regulation size table? The outside dimensions of the table are 99" by 56". I've seen a Budweiser cover before but at the time I didn't need one. Any brand will do if its in decent enough shape to protect the felt. Thanks, Greg
