Tom, is the Corona a variation of a can you already had?
The Corona is an unusual flat top variation. I have heard of but not seen a similar tab.Tom

Re: O Canada

Good questions! Not sure how much I can help with these, but … The Class book for Canada says the Heidelberg with "Product of Canada" at the bottom are unique, but I wouldn't vouch for that. They are definitely super tough. Do you know the provenance behind the "Product of Canada" Heidelberg? Was i...

Re: Rolled Cans

Sometimes rolled cans are the only way available. Other times there are test cans. I would take a 1- original over a rolled can. Some would n ot collect them at all. There is no absolute consensus way of pricing these cans but often 25-50 percent depending upon availability of original cans.

Thanks for not using the gallons for target practice. Enjoyed the new acquisition. Those western cans are often good even as upgrades as many of the gold foreign cans esp German seem to tarnish. Tom

Re: 2 ebay idiots going after it

Three personal observations to the future of collecting: 1. Another collecting hobby I dabble in with similar, but probably worse, demographics to can collecting is postwar Lionel trains. Basically trains from 1945 to the late 1960's. Same story, older collectors dying off, younger generation is mo...

Re: 2 ebay idiots going after it

Depends on how many other 1+ original cans are out there.I did notices there a couple of milkglass items that went for 600 and 900 dollars and dozens in the 100-200 range. Surely beer cans are cooler than milk glass??

Re: 2 ebay idiots going after it

Obviously no one has the answer for sure. People are c ollecting items in small numbers for their mancaves. I had a whole carload of things I had received from raffles over the years and was sol,d out in minutes. Even though these people were not buying cans there may be a point where cans get cheap...

I agree with your decision for reasons above plus the rust at the bottom face of the can on the right. The m ore I looked the "easier" the choice is. Good call.

Re: 2 ebay idiots going after it

I have cans of varying condition but have always liked cans that are VERY= VERY RARE VERY CLEAN OR VERY CHEAP, A premium is paid for the first two. The Duquesne only comes as a tab so there is no worry about a flat being changed into a tab. IKt is metallic so it looks extra nice when clean. Tge inta...
