Re: Krueger 3can wall find1

Oh, THOSE Kruegers. BCM and I stopped by to see those in philly a few years ago. I sat in the getaway car with the motor running (tank full of gas, sunglasses, check) while Steve went to try to buy them. The guy i think was a lawyer and would rather have something valuable other than money. I never...

Re: From FEB WWII Campsite Italy OD cans

Thanks for posting. Love seeing the cardboard box with the packing date and info. Very cool. Interesting that there was only one Schaefer can and 3 other OD cans. Where are the other Schaefer’s from the box? I was just noticing the same thing! Where are the other Schaefer's? Four cans, all differen...

Re: Auction surprises?????

I'm familiar with what a reserve is in an auction but what does soft mean as it relates to an auction reserve? I have to assume that term refers to a reserve that bidders aren't aware exists. I didn't see any mention of reserves or any "reserve not met" comments on anything during the auction or in...

Please tell me that's for sale, or are you just teasing me? LOL!! Well, hadn't really considered selling it. Certainly not why I posted it in this thread. However, I am a reasonable man who is sometimes open to unreasonable offers. Shoot me a PM with a number and we'll see where it goes.

Any zips?
Here's one.

I have less than 10 foreign cans in my collection. I'm pretty sure this one isn't that difficult, but it's clean and BO, so I picked it up at a show awhile back. I also liked how the "Lift Tab & Pull" is also stamped in French on the top lid.

Re: What did you bring home with you from Omaha?

I think $200 was a steal on the Bavarians IRTP. Congrats. LEON. Agree 100% Leon. That can, in the condition it appears to be in, would be a decent buy for the non-IRTP version. Given you see at least 10 non cans for every IRTP can (maybe even 20/1) this was truly a bargain. My guess is the seller d...

That is awesome! What a great idea. I'm am quite sure there are a huge number of people that don't even know beer can collecting/vintage beer can collecting is a thing. I've always said, either you have the collecting gene, or you don't. Who knows who might see that and start something up. Or... mig...

Actually, Elysian Def Leppard Pale Ale. Went to a Def Leppard/Journey concert last night with Mrs. OhioCanGuy and another couple. This can has been on my "if I find the right can at the right price" list for sometime. Struck a trade deal with Mark Rigney on Friday for this one. Came out of a small collection he recently acquired. Tough can to photograph and one that truly looks far better in hand than in my pics. Bottom opened...

It should follow that the most common clean bottom-opened zips would be from the nationals and large regional brewers. Budweiser, Schlitz, Pabst, Miller, Black Label, and Falstaff for nationals. Ballantine beer, Ruppert, Schaefer, Rheingold, Strohs, Hamms, Lucky, Olympia, Busch, Old Milwaukee, Drew...

So apparently, we're in the midst of breweriana auction summer. Rand's OI auction has just completed and now Dan Morean has another high end auction running. Three personal observations to the future of collecting: 1. Another collecting hobby I dabble in with similar, but probably worse, demographics to can collecting is postwar Lionel trains. Basically trains from 1945 to the late 1960's. Same story, older collectors dying off, younger generation is mor...
