Wow, they couldn't even find a real can of Black Label? Purchase when I can, and still a good summertime beer.

Re: Cansmart - Lebo 8/21/2022 Auction
I prebid $550 for the Tomahawk Ale, and I was silly enough to believe it was a fair bid. Final winner bid $1000. It’s a crazy market, and I can’t believe these prices will hold 5-10 years down the road. The simple fact is many of us- myself included- will age out, and I don’t see many in their 30s-4...

Re: Carling Malt Lager 16 oz. cans
Great thread, and love the sign! Carling tried to go upscale with Black Label- just look at the tankard cans- and Red Cap and Malt liquor/Lager was another attempt. Neither were successful. On the upside, there are two stores near me that sell Black Label 12 packs for 8.99. Perfect lawnmower beer, a...

Re: Dan’s October 3rd 2021 Auction
Every so often I’ll see a can at the right price on eBay- earlier this year I purchased a four panel Manhattan in beautiful condition for $650- however the auction prices have been great for sellers, and some of these prices realized are just nuts. In one of Dan’s more recent auctions he had a nice ...

Left. Displays better on the front. It’s a tough choice, however after 20 years you deserve a change. Irritating choice however. Both are nice, but who doesn’t like a prettier face?

Re: Is there a "holy grail?"
There are great choices here. I suppose the equivalent in the car world would be a Deusenberg, Cord, or Tucker. For me, Robert Musson’s book has mentioned a Gambrinus cone with a Chillicothe, OH mandatory. He even shows a grainy photo of it in “Brewing Beer in the Capitol City”. We each have our “Ho...

I had the same issue. Logged in on my Mac and iPad, tried bidding on the Ben Brew 3.2, and nothing. I must have hit the bid button six times. I did notice they had to delay the auction on a previous can because the system was down.

I’ve never seen that version before, and unless it’s in the supplement I don’t think it’s listed in the Lilek book. It’s amazing how far their distribution area was.
Manhattan and Grace had some of the most amazing brands and variations.

I’ve never seen mentioned this series of five cans. 26 years ago I purchased this one. My guess is it was a limited series cut short by the war and the brewery closing. In the past 26 years I don’t recall more than one or two for sale.

While not that expensive- maybe 7-10 dollars- I would consider Chief Oshkosh to be collectible because: -It was the 1st canned micro in the early 90’s (under contract by Steven’s Point) -Limited history- lasted about three years with local distribution; - Attractive label with heritage-brand name re...

I haven’t had a Bud since I was a teenager, but these cans have great designs. Picked up a 12 pack at Kroger the other day. Took a minute to go through some 12s- rolling the cans to see the designs from the carry handle. Once home I found two designs in the 12 pack-the two Clydesdale prints. Appears...

My own belief is that all the $$ from shows has moved to online for now. In addition, some of the prices realized recently have further fueled some guys to cash out. In your opinion then just as cans are added to the USBC supplement should the paper label one be removed? From appearances it’s not a valid, marketed can.

Any experts out there that can tell me:
-When the brand was brewed and canned?
-Which came 1st- paper label or standard can?
-Which of the two are more difficult to obtain?
-Was this brand bottled as well?
-Is value above market because of LSU fans vs. comparable cans?
Thanks, Mike
