Thanks Tom. You are doing well already up there with those sweet Red Top Beer cones. I’m trying to leave on the 7th, but I was just notified of jury duty on the 4th..Maybe it will get thrown out.

Re: 2024 want to dump cans
I really would like to find a nice Atlas Prager instructional. One that is not faded out of the red and gold. Any variation will do. I’ve dumped a few but they always seem to be on top and void of the cool color scheme.

Re: Personal dumping challenge this spring
Nice Ed, that’s exactly the cans I mean. That’s one of the ones you never see. They seem to be either common or never seen..I’m not saying on my trip that I am going to leave nice Blatz cones or Pabst Exports, just really want to find those obscure short lived labels.

Personal dumping challenge this spring
After retiring from the Army last June, this will be my first spring dumping season when I can be gone for as long as I want. As a personal challenge I am planning on doing a solo week long camping trip to Wisconsin. On this trip I am looking to dump as many Wisconsin cans as possible. This is NOT i...

They are just called flat sheets, painted and cut but not rolled. The Schmidt scene flat sheets would bring 5 to 10 dollars IMHO. Depending on how you’re selling them.

A lot of cool stuff. My dad took me to a Buckeye show back in 88’ or 89’. I need to make it to one sometime in this millennium. Crazy what prices some “common” cans in a higher grade are carrying these days.

Those are some sweet upper mid west cans. Maybe I can coax a few from some dumps this year.

Nice Ted, great time to be out. So I take it that the ground is not frozen. Good condition for cans in that type of sand. That soil usually leads to the crusty schmutzy type rust.

Interesting, thanks Canadacan. This can is a bottom opened flat with the late gray galvanized lids. I do see the differences.

You may want to go dumping around Murphy, North Carolina. I know a few were found around there.

I just want to say thanks to who ever sends out the Rusty Bunch gear. I ordered three pullovers and also received a patch which is now on my dumping vest and a RB pennant. Class act, I appreciate it. Great people, great chapter.

Down to one wall of flats and cones
After years of moving and having cans boxed up everywhere this is more or less of what flats and cones I am keeping. I am shifting more to focusing on only the cans I dig. These are all cans that either came from my dad’s collection, I bought or traded for were given to me over the years. Time to st...

I’m not really into foreign breweriana or glass but I couldn’t pass this up for the price (saved from being trashed). Does anyone have any info about the age or value on something like this? I know it needs a frame. Totally out of my realm of collecting. It’s 30”x18”

I picked this up at a show in a deal. Any one have any information about it regarding value or desire ability?
It obviously has some humidity issues. It’s not in any of my soda can references.
Thanks

I have been to Large old Lufkin city dump near the ball field. I did find a Black Dallas O/I in there amidst the scattered piles of Bud and Pabst O/Is. Nearly 20 years later….Old Corky may have kicked the rusty bucket.

Yes, all of this does make sense. I just pictured a funny scenario in my mind of some 1950s ozark local reading the brewery mandatory and complaining about how this here beer is from Miami and not ST. Louie. Well shucks, I ain’t drinking it then…

Just a random question about the logistics of painting over your own label solely to change the brewery location. My case is point is the common second generation Busch “clear and bright” flats from the 56-58 era. I have found many of these laying around the Ozarks over the years and I have identifi...

My two best pre-war cone finds of the year. These came from the same dump in northern Minnesota. Tom and I had a blast. The Fitgers was upside down in a food can.

I dumped the Ozarks in the early 70’s; Hyde Park Woodgrain, Seven Elevens, Muelenbach Country Club and Falstaff cones, Paul Bunyans, Oconto, Busch Lager, Bismarck, Superior, Windsor, Busch and Bud or course, Prager, Old Crown Ale and Beer OI, Gold Bud OI, and more. Went to The 1972 BCCA Canvention ...

So far it appears that most of the paint overs are diet shastas. All of the Schlitz are from K.C.

I agree I would like to hold out, and I have discussed this with my kids. I know the cans will be recycled back into the hobby somewhere to someone who will proudly display them. It just seems as though they would benefit and be more appreciated by someone new. I just have new interests. But you can...

Yikes, that is a nasty bite. So from what I have read recently, the slightly more mild winters in Cleveland are providing an ideal home for them. They are pretty cold tolerant anyways. After a few rounds of antibiotics and a quick skin scrape, my hand is pretty much healed up. It can hold a fresh be...
