Collection for sale in Eastern Ohio/Western PA or Northern VA

Hi all - a woman named Shelly has her collection for sale in Ohio. If I lived closer I would be all over it, but I am looking to downsize and I don't have time for a road trip. She does not appear to have any heavy hitters, but there are some excellent vintage straight steel label's. Some cans I wou...

Re: Morean Auction 11-27-2022

When Beercansplus started their auctions, I used to click in bids on cans that I knew would blow by what I had entered. Most times,it would be well before the actual live auction ever began. I'm not sure if it was fuled by beer or me thinking I was some sort of can expert, but I crossed the four-fi...

Two new killer cans this week that have been on the wish list for a while. The Esslinger's Premium quart from eBay and the Eastside from Fallfest 2022! I guess it was a week for Big 'E''s. Love them both! I definitely have something to be Thankful for this week!

Damn! He will be missed! He was always friendly and loved to talk about his quarts and the Ballantine variations! I was hoping to see his collection in person someday. Bummer! This is me and Charlie checking out the Lebo Collection and drooling over the quarts during Spring Thaw 2022!

Re: Morean Auction 8-28-2022

I bid on a few, but never felt like chasing things to regret price land. I almost bid on the Esslinger's Premium quart and I thought the $500 price was not too bad for a clean quart these days. Although I already have a mint Little Man quart and with ONLY 10 quarts in my collection, I thought it wou...

Re: Funding a hobby from another hobby

Interesting question - I collect cans and diecast cars. The cars take up less space and are much less expensive. I have gone back and forth on each - selling some to buy others. My can collection has pivoted a few times so when I sell, I re-invest in something new. We are planning to retire and move...

Re: Aluminum Bottle Prices

I am no expert, but I have purchased many Bud aluminum bottles for $1-$3 at a show. I would pay up for rare ones I guess. I think I paid $5 or $10 for the Gay Pride can, Superbowl stuff. I like Patriots and Tampa Bay (Tom Brady fan). I brought some cans/cabottles to Spring Thaw but sold zero aluminu...

Re: Morean Auction - June, 2022

Thought I’d go through and list some that didn’t seem crazy high , Not saying these were good buys - but somewhat sensible ( humble opinion ) - Thought the Ambrosia would go for more than 4000 - $3860 - Little Dutch cone top Didn’t seem too bad - $1821 - Muehlebach cone - not a very exciting can bu...

This was Tuesday on Ebay, nice all original example but went too high for me at $915. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234560117656?hash=item369cdf5b98:g:NDYAAOSwDRNih4lO Sunday on Morean, replaced lid and gear marks, over $2000 with buyer fees. https://www.moreanauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=149...

We truly are in Bizarro world! Obviously there are folks out there with unlimited funds who want what they want. They don't have the time to scour eBay or Facebook and just go to high end auctions. It sure makes many of us scratch our heads....and hope that we can get similar results! Based on Aucti...

Hey Bob - That is a very cool looking Bock label! Who brews that craft brew? Thanks, Paul Bunker Brewing in Maine! I don't wanna see any competing sales from you! LOL! My first few "prototypes" I trimmed off the top, now I trim off the bottom so the Brewery is present. Here is a pic...

No doubt it is a kickass looking label. I was shocked by the selling price as well, but I imagine many would add to shelf for under $25. I have been selling a few Mock Bock labels online. They are REAL labels that came from a Craft 16 oz, but I re-applied them to a SS pull tab. I am quite clear it i...

Such a shame that humidity was allowed to ruin many of those cans. That Bock can is worth $$$ if clean. Empire too! Craigslist? I have been slacking on my browsing!

Re: Micro Bock Cans

I just found this awesome BOCK from Bunker Brewing in Maine. I went to two area liquor stores and all the labels have air bubbles and such. I am not sure if it is the label, or they were just applied incorrectly. I was able to pull mine off and re-apply to make them look better. A great looking GOAT...

What a score! I love to read these stories. Good luck with the rub-out. I have done several 12 oz cans with mixed results that usually resulted in paint burn-thru. I would be paranoid to touch a gem like this Ebling. Lockheed brake Fluid! Another item to keep your eye open for!

Definitely cool with the sketch of the brewery on there. I agree, they appear to be receipts. I bet a Missouri collector would appreciate that or any Pre-Pro docs collector.
