Re: Crappy BCCA CANvention Policy

Simple. Everything you volunteered to do for the BCCA you either charge them triple the expense or it gets left home or just throw in the trash and tell them to go find someone else to do it.

Re: CL Moving ad leads to puny Breweriana, then coin collections and....

Need to dig up that cars and cans post. I just found out about a 63 Dodge 880 with a 413 wedge, push button torqueflite, that is pulling at me hard. Make a good work car I think. Who doesn't like beer and cars?

Re: Curious about White Bear can

Just the name for a brewery. Maybe they were talking about the reaction this beer had on the guts the next day "Fleckenstein" translated "Stains stone"

Your right about not forgetting, but those who never met him should be reminded why the dump will always be the Dave VanHines dump. Just like why baseball will always be Babe Ruths game.

Craft cans might have saved it for a while but if kids can't afford to get into the hobby at a young age then why why they do so later on in life when their interests are elsewhere? Many, many pre-war classics are coming on the market from kids who inherited them and could care no less about keeping...

Re: Time Left: 1 Day(s) 13h : 23m : 12s Get to the Good Guys auction site and bid....

Just a comparison of antique markets right now. It wasn't long ago that a small section of the higher end antique vehicle market was for older deep pocket people. Well they are dying and the market for these cars has no buyers interested in them. Beer cans are approaching into that same area. Older ...

At least some markets are getting buyers. In comparison the pre-war car market is so bad I was able to grab this for not much more then the Travis. A 1931 Franklin. You can get a Model T for under 8 K.

Linden from Lindenhurst, NY I hold dear. In the foam scraper display is a Jacob Ruppert BUT with the pre-pro Turtle Bay brewing logo. I know of one other. The receipt came from the local fire department where my father was a life member.

Hard to believe it isn't. The minor variations though with this label are so numerous it would be an easy miss.

Re: What exactly do I have here?

It is a pretty common variation and dug all over the greater NYC area. Why it is in Alaska is anyone's guess. There are actually a few more minor variations not in the books. Seems lots of Ruppert was put under a contract for some reason and shipped up there as well as CA.

What oil cans do you have extra?

Looking at the Tahoe pics see plenty up for grabs. Need a side collection to go with my antique cars. What do you have ? Dumpers fine as they will be going in one of the car barns.

Re: this is getting ridiculous

If it costs that much it has to be good right ? I quit buying most craft beer in cans on a whim till I research the brewery because way too many are not craft anymore but bought up by Imbev. In TX alone the number is growing daily. Karbach, Deep Ellum, Revolver, etc...

Re: Los Angeles Rheingold

IRTP red label Rheingolds are pretty common cans. The one that is less common that tends to be "tougher" is the one label Rheingold with script lettering and not block BUT with the script lettering on the back saying "My beer is Rheingold". A quickie transition can from one to two label me thinks. T...

All old neons that have hung in a bar also suffer from fragile glass syndrome from being lite thousands of hours. Brittle doesn't explain it. They tend to crack very easy so be careful using anything like a rag that could put pressure between two tubes. Use what Jim said and disposable wipes. My 193...

Back in late 80's dumped a handful edel brew 58-35 on Long island. My Dad found the best as a can in a can. They were mixed in with gold Rheingolds but zero wood grain Rheingolds. Found a buried stack of close to 25 can in cans all stacked like cord wood. 5 edel brew, a few pabst, rest Rheingolds. M...
