What's the difference between this 'test' can (currently at $175 on Morean) and the normal version, which regularly sells for $5 or less on ebay?

007 six pack scam on ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/374547514950 This must be a scam, right? I've seen the exact same listing a few times before and it always disappears in a few days. It doesn't show up in "completed" listings. Notice the guy's sales terms - don't buy it thru ebay, send an email instead. Funny thin...

Re: Last year for tab top production?
I distinctly remember when I was in college in 84-86 and I was building the typical pull tab chains for dorm decorations. The odd thing is that during this time all of the soda cans had sta-tabs but most beer cans still had pull tabs - does anybody have any insight as to why the 2 industries were ou...

IMG_9449[1].JPG Jim - thanks for confirming my thoughts. I don't recall who I got it from so I can't help anyone dig more in the same spot. I am interested in seeing if anybody has this variation or any other cone with similar conflicting alcohol statements. I might be willing to let it go, since I...

Is this a normal can - it's the STRONG version, but it also has the <3.2% statement by the seam. These 2 features seem to contradict each other

Re: A funny thing in & after Prohibition- "Legal Beverages" in ads
Just a theory, but maybe the ones that use "beer" or "liquor" are from shortly after prohibition, when there were a lot of restrictions on legal booze, such as 3.2% beer and not a lot of liquor licenses. Maybe competitor bars were selling illegal bootleg booze or selling without ...

@clark Thanks for the post and the pic! Curious. Did the other cans in that six pack have regular tabs? Any chance you photo'd or kept any of those? ( MI-Cans ) Glad to help. The others were normal tops. Remember this was around 1980, so there are no photos. Your Pabst is probably from mid-late 60'...

Re: obviously fake 70's cone - do you feel sorry for the bidders?
Like anything else, it's worth whatever anyone is willing to pay for it. If it makes the buyer happy, kudos to them. Classic '70s appeal though... like a Volkswagon Beetle with a Rolls Royce bonnet... Sure, but in this case it seems likely these bidders think this is a "real" cone top, wh...

Guys in the Chicago area: I'll pay $.50 each for all low-value 70's/80's cans that fall into either of 2 categories detailed below. I'm using them for making paper label replica cans. I'd like to buy at least a case or two from any single source to make it worth your and my time. Category 1: straigh...

That looks identical to the real cone except for the mandatory and "a nod to the" words. I think even the height of the black outline box matches the cone and the fat red stripe on the top makes up for the height difference.

Re: Status of shows and events because of the Coronavirus situation
Just one guy's opinion, but I think small local shows can be done safely today. We just need to follow the basic rules; don't attend if you're sick or vulnerable, wear masks, keep tables spaced 6' apart.
