Re: a Chicago traffic question

You can avoid Chicago altogether if you don't mind going a few extra miles and paying a couple of tolls. I-55 intersects with I-39 in the Bloomington-Normal vicinity. I-39 goes straight north into Wisconsin. After you cross the border into Wisconsin near Beloit, it intersects with I-43 which will ta...

Craigslist ad; Horlacher Bock sign

I took a look on Craigslist today (I'm flat broke so I can't say why) when I saw this: http://wausau.craigslist.org/clt/4593090067.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Kinda outta of it's home territory, but thought someone might be interested. Looks clean, I have no idea if...

Re: R.I.P Tony Gwynn Mr. Padre

I am a Cub fan and you cannot deny excellence. What ticked me off was that the Cubs had a better record but no lights in Wrigley. First two games at Wrigley Field and the next three at SD. TV ratings before records. I still have nightmares about 1984. That being said, one of the best hitters I ever...

Re: How WARM is it where you live?

Gotta love the Midwest. Hotter than hell in the summer, and summer starts the day after the snow melts. Colder than, well, anywhere else below 5000 feet in the winter. Jersey's been cool and rainy with some really nice weekends. Better than cold and snowy for sure... Yeah, gotta love the midwest. G...

Nicely done! One of my favorite cans, never heard of that being under a LOL. I've tried two and struck out both times. The way my luck is going lately, I'd rub one out and get a Bud.

Re: I just got tickets for 2 bands I've never seen but alway

Found this gem awhile back. From 1968 or thereabouts when BOC called themselves The Stalk-Forrest Group. It has the original lineup of Bloom-Roeser(Buck Dharma)-Lanier-A.Bouchard-J.Bouchard. Think most, if not all were students at UNY Stony Brook at the time. It's kinda Byrds-kinda country-kinda lat...

Re: Fakes in a museum......is it ethical?

No and no. If I go to a museum to see a authentic life-jacket someone wore on the Titanic or a jar from King Tut's tomb, I don't want to find out the life-jacket was bought from Fleet-Farm last week, or the jar has 'Made in China' stamped on the bottom. Years ago, my Mom donated my great grandfather...

Holy crap dude! I'd be more than stoked. Ritchie Blackmore and Buck Dharma on the same ticket? I've seen BOC a whole buncha times, never saw Deep Purple, although I caught Rainbow quite a few years ago. There's gonna be some shredding goin on that night. I'm very, very, very, very jealous.

Ever since I saw a series on Flickr on the ABA museum I've had a major jones to get there and check it out. When the snow melts and the ground thaws, maybe a couple of years from now, I'm gonna make the trip and hopefully do some dumping. Some of the breweriana from the local Wisconsin breweries, li...

Something interesting about this tape - the second song is called "You Gotta Be Crazy" which later went on to become "Dogs" on the Animals album. The lyrics, except for a couple of spots, are completely changed. They did a whole rewrite once the Animals concept was finalized. Sa...
