Re: Some more photo fun- Drewrys

pinnacle-project Hey thanks, ...yes I suppose I could use paint shop for the background, but there would be no challenge! Having said that I do retouch the photos as needed. It's something fun to play around with...I still need to try Jerry's suggestion for more or brighter light, and I'll certainl...

Re: Some more photo fun- Drewrys

Uncle Jackson When I was doing it with bottles it was about using natural light to illuminate the bottle, and maintain a pitch black background, just my artistic take I suppose :) But with cans it's a whole new challenge, I have a Fanta can I'm trying to do but because of the design of the metallic...

Try brighter light.
Yes I could do that....one of the tricks with this was doing it with as much natural light as possible. I had tried doing this in a light box of sorts but the background just comes out blackish/grey.....the background need to stay as dark as possible.

Some more photo fun- Drewrys

I don't really have many USA cans but this is one of my favorites that I got from Art LaComb down at the Portland Canvention.
Been playing around with backgrounds :mrgreen:

@Uncle Jackson
Thank you for that....I'm going to try the white carboard. I suppose this was more of an artistic flare and I wouldn't use this background to document a can.
Your probably right about the camera too :)

Photo fun...Crush Grapefruit

This is a style of photo I have used on several bottles before, but today I decided to try it with one of my favorite cans from my New Years day haul. It's basically done in almost all natural light...it was tricky with the metal reflections going on, it could use a little more clarity but this is s...

@idigrust

Dan this is what I have on the editor...shows attachments unavailable, they are in the correct spots here, then once submitted they are all in the wrong places...and not showing in the attachment list.

Do I have to resubmit all the photos?

Re: Something amiss with attachments

idigrust Yes I went to do some editing in the soda can archive, under the Third Generation Wave Designs 1970-1985...post #5 It placed the photo I added in the wrong spot, rearranged the others, and I think some may be missing now. In the editor when I added the new photo it showed only one other ph...

Re: A new year, a new day, and a new box of gems!

Well that grab box I got on New Years day really payed off! :smt026 ... out of 56 cans that were in the box I added 35 Canadian cans to my collection, 7 USA, and one 5.5 oz UK Pepsi. A few I've never seen from White Rock, and the Shasta Valencia orange was a surprise to see because the can I have a...

Re: Jefferson club soda

This is a strange situation where I don't think rarity was reflected in price. The last few Jefferson Club cans that have showed up, had almost no interest, selling below $10, including a 1+ orange of mine that sold for $7.27 in 2014. Given that, I'm not sure these still qualify as R3 cans, but the...

$5-7 online guide....there are a few R3 cans with low values, maybe they are just missing the 0's :smt017

Marked as an R3 in the guide?...but only valued at $5-7....I never understood how rare can = low value, I guess because it's a mid 70's can.

I did a ton of research regarding Cragmont when I did up the archive and I knew there was 12oz cans, but I could not confirm if they were US made or not because the 1960 advertisements showed a can with the Safeway logo on front. Well today I can confirm that indeed Cragmont came in 12oz cans made i...
