American Pickers vs Canadian Pickers
I watch both American Pickers and Canadian Pickers. My eyes are always combing the room they are picking. I can't help but notice Frank and Mike will wiff right past most breweriana. However Scott and Sheldon will sift through breweriana often picking some nice advertising as well as bottles and can...

What can you tell me about this can?
I picked up a dozen cans off of kijiji and this Schmidt was in there. It is still full. This isn't the can that made me move to purchase the whole lot but it was in there. I don't know much about US cans. Have I got anything here??

My kijiji near miss
So this appeared on Kijiji last Wednesday. I didn't see it until this past Monday and it had already sold. The whole lot for $200 CDN which is about $150 US. That works out to about $17.00 a can. A Dow cone for $17 has kept me up at night for the past few days. I don't know anything about US cones s...

Wow, that is impressive, rarely do you see all of the 60's Alum together. There are too many hard to find labels to get them all.

Interesting to notice on the cardboard advertising piece how times have changed. Smoking was once an accepted practice every where. My mom used to smoke and I remember smelling it on my clothes growing up and if you entered a smokers home the smell would hit you in the face. -Chris Funny you should...

Miller Zip Tab
so I asked the fella that sold me the Red Cap Ale if he had more. He mentioned that he had acquired a collection of 30- 40 cans a few years back. Of the 25 cans he pictured the Miller High Life caught my eye as it is a zip tab. Is there anything there worth pursuing?? He also sent me a pic of a Stro...

Re: Condition makes all the difference!
I bought one in that shape about 20 years ago for $90us and I got a second one about the same condition two years ago for $25 cdn. When it comes to off grade it is a crap shoot. I kept the $90 can and flip the $25 can

Re: My jaw drop to my underwear line
Wow! imagine that. I land on an unlisted can that was posted on Kijiji. BTW it was in St Clements just west of Waterloo. A green Red Cap appeared on the Quebec kijiji about a year ago and I low balled the guy and he stopped talking to me. I wonder how many cities were on that one. Actually, Oliver p...

Hey Dave, I see your book lists 4 cities CBC#20-17 and 5 cities CBC #20-17Aac. Does this mean I have found an previously unknown can??

It is a three city. Pictured with my five city off grade can that I think I got off of ebay about 20 years ago. I know your book has two listed but I can't remember the cities.

My jaw drop to my underwear line
This is a $15 dollar kijiji pick. About $11.50US. My jaw literally hit the table. Anyone on this forum that knows Canadian cans knows this is shocking. Let me retype that again, SHOCKING!!. I moved quickly to aquire it. Just for fun, someone throw up a pic of an American can of equal rarity and valu...

Re: O Canada
I have had pretty good success dumping in Canada. I find the Muskoka region just north of Toronto to be right full of treasures. Most cottages would carry their groceries in but would not carry out the garbage. Most dumps are in or over banks behind the cottage. I do phone repair in cottage land so ...

Re: Dick Adamowicz (RB #5)
I met Dick back in '86 at the Frankenmuth summer swap. I went home with a pile of Dick's Canadian rust. May of those cans are still on my shelf today. Dick would use a coloured dab of paint on the top or bottom of the cans to identify price. Even now, years later, I'll roll over a can at a show to s...

Whoa, that is quite a scoop, especially that Black Label. I wouldn't touch that bank top (which I have never seen a bank top of that vintage of Canadian can ever) Makes for a one of and a good story.

Re: Eh?
Well done on that Dorans. The ZIP version is much tougher can but it is the early label about 1967. I don't think it is regarded as rare but you rarely dig them. I can only recall digging that can once and it was on Manitoulin Island back in 2002.

Stumbled upon jaw dropper
I do phone repair in cottage country. I'm trucking through the woods today like a man no a mission and when I least expect it I stumble upon a garbage pit. It took me all but a few seconds to spot the zip sitting on the top just under a car hood. I was not disappointed when I turned the can over to ...

Doug Goegan passed away this past weekend. He put up of one hell of a fight the past few years. It has been a tough week. I don't have a Bradings cone on my shelf. I dont' expect I ever will. I did a artilcle on Canadian cones and the crown that came with them. It was posted in the Canadian Breweriana newsletter a few years back. It looks very similar to the one I listed as the cap.
