The more I look at it, I think it looks like the precursor to the stay tab that eventually took over in the later 1970's.
But that second rivet is troubling.

Re: 2024 March Madness RB brackets
Looking at the standings I have 2 questions:
1. The numbers just to the right of our champion pick, the ones in the parenthesis, what does that number mean or indicate?
2. What does CPK stand for when looking at point totals?

The good and the bad: Good, because I am posting a shot of just the lid as requested. F2B44933-8CCE-419E-BBCD-6CE348350466.jpeg The bad, because as you can see, whomever emptied the can long ago did it with two small holes on the bottom. Without making a large hole in the bottom, I don’t know how to...

Re: Paper Label Crowntainers- Our story so far
Awesome thread! Of course, I like crowntainer s myself, so this is especially interesting to me. One note, and you probably already know this, on the Schlitz bock comparing it to the label below it, the font on the word bock is different from the can and label. Just a minor difference. Interesting t...

I have seen the Budweiser tab top can many times. I have seen this type of lid (experimental?) on occasion. I don’t know if I have seen this lid on a tab top-labeled can. I discovered I had this when going thru some boxes of the collection packed away for many years. Common or uncommon? It is b.o. s...

Got my brackets filled. Since I am not a basketball fan usually, 99% of my picks are basically random.

Just rubbed using cotton balls. Looottss of cotton balls. No submerging. That was my next move if the acetone/nail polish remover didn't work.

I received a call from my daughter a few weeks ago, saying she was in an antique store with a friend, and she found a tray that looked interesting. It had been painted over all black, but the outer rim mentioned a beer. The key thing was the price: $5. Did I want it? She facetimed or whatever it is ...

Re: 1965 Schlitz test can zip find
Waste-man: I understand on one level why you might think it is weird to fill a test can, but on another level, isn't that what one does when you have a test market? A company will have product go out to see if sales are impacted by the packaging of the product, so therefore they need to fill the can...

Question about Stoney's tab
I was finally emptying some boxes of my collection (tabs at this point) and cataloging the cans. I found a Stoney's tab, black letters, looking like 128-5, but my had the mandatory near the seam along with around the bottom. I found the match to my can on the supplement page, listed as 128-5.2 My qu...

Was I the only one shocked at the final price of the 16 oz Stite?
I know they are not common or easy, but wow....
Of course, I may be totally clueless and it is a realistic result, I just don't know.

The back of the BCCA magazine, along with the back cover of some of the other organizations magazines has the Morean ad featuring the highest prices for different cans. $49,500 for a flat, $47,880 for a quart, $45,030 for a cone, etc. I know we have had a discussion before (another thread), but does...

I think whoever was in charge of designing the cans were paid bonuses for re-designs, and he made a fortune. All these little design changes, some so minor, but obvious when we specifically look for them now. Maybe it was a job-security strategy for the guy.......

probably some legal requirement of some kind. like you have to be specific where the beer was actually made if you have multiple brewing locations.
Just a guess.

Yes, the post card is A-B. Actually, it is Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association. The postcard was sent and is postmarked 1907. It is noted as 'Busch Place' on the postcard, but is probably better known as the big house or mansion at Grant's Farm in St. Louis. Where all the Busch's lived and grew up.
