Re: What Brewery do You have the most Cans from?

Just have under 300 cans on display at this time, and of those, Sick's Brewing (Seattle and Salem and Spokane) is the dominating brewery, with most of the examples being 6 Select and Brew 66 brand (12 cans), with the remainder various Rainier's(10 cans). But nothing like the amounts of Rainier cans ...

80's and 90's aluminum

I get it that this site is primarily focused on rusty nuggets of yesteryear, but 1980-1990 is getting to be more than yesteryear--and the amount of cans saved (not recycled) from that era is almost as few as from the 1930's-1940's. While we all--most of us--are swamped with 1970's cans, and many of ...

Re: Old labels/brands making a comeback?

Yes, but if somehow just 5 people in each state would take up collecting and join the BCCA and other organizations (chapters, etc) that could make a significant difference in the hobby. Not a life-changing difference, but a noticeable bump to our hobby.

Re: Ugliest Can Tournament Nominations

I don't know if cans from USBC II are elegible, and I don't want to nominate too many, but these two are the "cream of the crop" from the tab cans--although truth be told, there are A LOT of cans from Vl. 2 that could be considered. The Urho cans is the absolute worst can. A hideous pairing of color...

A few to nominate. The L &M is just an ugly pairing of colors. The two others are just so plain they are ugly

The Hammonton, NJ cans are made with absolutely no design and are almost the flat top equivalent of the 1970's generic beers.

It is a $10 can, so depends on if you think $10 cans are easy or a little harder to find. Fairly easily found at bigger shows. I would think that it shouldn't be valued any more than the $10.

Neat can. I have not seen very many ever, and I am pretty sure I have not seen one in person in a better grade. I think there must be some, but everyone I have ever seen has been that condition or worse.

In the picture at the start of this thread, one can is white faced, the other is the blushing variety. So the question is, on the third variety that Leon mentions, what kind of face? White or blushing?

Ashtrays. I have seen that form/design in that type of material from the 1960's era in other non-beer examples.

Each Super Bowl Sunday the Northstar chapter has an OUTDOOR show a few hours before the game. Thus the name. Sundays show was fun, even warm-ish, as compared to other years! Though damp and wet, very foggy all day. Others can chime in, but I am guessing 20 or so collectors showed up and had a good t...

Two sets: As for the Grain Belt pairs, look at the 'r' in the word beer. There is a definitive extra loop or swoosh at the end of the 'r' on #39 as opposed to #38. As for the Kingsbury bock cans, I have always heard that it is a color difference--orange vs yellowish. The book kinda shows -13 as the ...

Nice interview. Love the collection. On a different note, I read in an article today that mentioned a beach in California called "Beer can beach". That was the official name of the beach. Maybe BCCA or Rusty Bunch should have a one day show there or sponsor a clean up day and get a sponsor sign post...

Story and question about old BCU

Right around 30 years ago, perhaps 28-30 years ago just after I married and moved to St. Louis and got back into can collecting, I was at a outdoor trade show (not Swap A Rama, but a smaller show) and I had my BCU book with me. I was very attached to the book at that time, as the BCU was perhaps the...
