Re: An Aquarium in the can room

I have aquaria in the same room as my signs and trays. They are not on the same wall of the room. I run a dehumidifier in that room. You need to make sure that any oversplash from the filters and pumps does not come into contact with anything made out of steel. "Fresh" Aquarium water contains some s...

Hi resolution Krueger's pictures needed

I figured I'd put this out here. I've been contacted by an online publication called NJ.com. They are doing an article on "New Jersey Firsts", and are interested in the first Beer Can(s). I provided some information and was able to provide low resolution pictures of the front faces of the Krueger's ...

If I had to hazard a guess, it may have been a collector attempting to catalog a collection. I have seen cans and bottles with numbers stamped on them similar to those.

That's one of those cans where a very respectable outdoor can is fairly commonly available, but a bottom opened 1/1+ can is virtually nonexistent.

Yeah - this gutted me when I heard about it. A great guy, and I must have traded hundreds of cans with him back in the days when we both collected currents and then craft cans.

There is a fifth Ortleib's Americana Can for the Fairmount Trolley. It was likely never filled and sold, as I've only seen the can a couple of times, and I don't have one. I've seen one for sale for around $100.

I think John Page still has a lot of the cones in KC area collections to redo or get pictures of for the first time. They've done the bulk of the flats in that area for sure.

Re: Status of USBC Supplemental Updates.......An incredible effort

Eric Claussen (sp?) built his own photobox and was able to submit pictures of hundreds of 16oz. cans that are now on the site. The boxes the supplement guys use have a turntable that is attached to a laptop to reduce the time required to take multiple images. That build would be a little trickier.

(drivable, from Maryland). Also, box was at Portland. Committee likely would need a west coast volunteer prior to considering building (and buying) another photobox.

I am also sure that Jeff Gallowa...
