Re: Always fun finding a Krueger sign in a dump

@Dixie Dave Sadly the dirt was behind the plastic and in front of the rusty metal so that was straight out of the dump

Sadly the color is on the plastic and the metal behind it is rusty and busted up....but always makes for some pleasure....

Imperial beer can....Just an artist rendition???

So while looking into Imperial beer being sold in St Louis I happened across this ad. Is this just a poor artist rendition "Hey Publisher....we're going to be selling Imperial beer here soon and here is a quick sketch to get it in the paper". The right image was put in the paper a week later.... The...

So when I did my story with Bob L He mentioned that one of his favorite digs was the Imperial can....here is the ad in the St Louis paper from The_St__Louis_Star_and_Times_Thu__Aug_10__1939 so there should be no doubt that the can was sold locally... Hamms "New Flip-Top" beer can...artist rendition with the words???

Not sure if this can design was just an ad artist rendition but I know of no cans with the words "New Flip-Top" at the top of the can.....I also like how they still made the suggestion to still open it from the bottom....

This hobby is so addictive.......in a great way

Amazing how you look at things sometimes when you are a devote fan of this great hobby. Take for instance how much we look at images in movies and TV sometimes for beer and brewery related items....this came to light again for me when I captured these beer related items in recent Titans season 2 epi...

Gold Split Label Bud with IRTP lid

I finally managed to get a gold Budweiser split label with the IRTP on the lid. First saw one when Dan Scoglietti picked one up at the Spring Thaw show. Seems Bud was transitioning out of the solid gold cans but was still in the IRTP mandatory window. So rather than put the IRTP on the can they chos...

@MI-Cans Ed another interesting note is that although the Beverwyck beer was the can noted in the 1935 newspaper ad AND 1935 magazine ad, the image of the can was NOT included in the 1936 ad. Yet there were two versions of the Beverwyck ale cans in the photos.

@Leon Thanks for posting that ad. Looks like everyone that signed up with Continental up until the time of the ad. I noticed they're not in alphabetical order. Re: Cap-sealed Continental cans in advertising 1935

MI-Cans Thanks for moving that topic since it was related to 1936 vice 1936. I do however want to thank Leon for adding the magazine article since it helps narrow down at least one more can (Red Lion Ale) from 1935 that I could confirm through advertising. My search of Cap-sealed didn't produce the...
