Interesting coloring variation. Not surprising as they started with the yellow haired version. Will have to look at the pics I’ve collected.

Re: New diet generation of a very rare zip code can

They’re pull tabs from the late 60’s, used into the early 70’s - “Please Don’t Litter”

New diet generation of a very rare zip code can

Just obtained these four - exceptionally clean from an old collection! The cola hadn't been found in the regular generation yet. Something new to look for!

Re: Interesting variation of the early Belfast Orange can

I'm interested - can you message me with what your asking for it? Thx, Dave T I found an interesting variation of this early Belfast Orange soda can from the mid 1950's. Note the differences in the coloring of the soda in the glasses. I acquired two sets and this is a picture of my extra set, if any...

Hi Brent,

I saw that one. Looked nice!

Do you have any access to 10oz lids?

Re: Odd Cones

They could have been paper label break fluid cans with the paper removed. There have been beer cans like this, but I thought they were usually older. I remember a few of these, along with one or two other brands appearing on Ebay in the late 90's or early 2000's. Didn't pay much attention to them or...

Re: Odd Cones

These are pull tabs that had cones added. Soda cones were also never made with screw tops - the carbonation wouldn't last. The presence of zip codes is the clincher - these are D540-1 with the bottoms cut down to get the right height for a cone top. If these don't have zip codes (D540-0), then someo...

New Pabst 10oz sheet

I picked this up today - The Pale Dry version in the book is off-grade and is not a can I own, so I can't check if it has a star or a small MiraCan. The version I bought today has a small MiraCan in the trim area where a star normally appears. The smaller pic is a flat sheet with the star and no Mir...

2nd Miami Cone top

Here is the second example of the legendary Miami cone! This can verifies that there were 9 flavors produced - listed on the side! It’s a little scratched and dented, but totally solid. It was dug in 1975 in Miami and has been part of a bottle collection ever since. The ground it came out of is now ...

Re: Packer's Imitation Grape Soda

You raise some good questions and accurately described the process. I think it comes down to individual preference, but I personally think that an all original can with the correct advertising lid would still be the 'most' valuable. The soda side also has a lot less choice when looking at rare cans....
