Re: Guide for International Soda Cans

Hi Will,

Could you send me straight on pics of the Coke cans? Higher angle pics don't show well in the book.

Thanks,
Dave

Early Fanta Orange pick up

My second really good can of the new year! Very rarely see an original, unpunctured advertising lid like this!

Re: Packer's Imitation Grape Soda

You raise some good questions and accurately described the process. I think it comes down to individual preference, but I personally think that an all original can with the correct advertising lid would still be the 'most' valuable. The soda side also has a lot less choice when looking at rare cans....

Triple 16 Cola flat

First new can of 2018! Has to be one of the better examples of this super rare can! I included a pic of the Triple 16 and the Triple 12.

Re: Soda Cone Tops

Jim, What have you found that is not listed? I’d like to add the variation to the guide. Matt, Are you referencing the Kiddsoda quart collection or was there another that changed hands. I know who the initial buyer was - don’t know if the cans are still together now though. I think the original aski...

Big Giant Cherry Cola found during house rebuilding project

A single can was found in Denton, Texas during a house remodel. Pretty amazing can! I'm hoping it will clean up quite a bit when it arrives next week. Love the advertising lid - I don't know if the other examples have this or not. Anyone seen it before? Based on the lids and the large MiraCan logo, ...

Re: Soda Cone Tops

There are a couple of collections with most of them. I did an appraisal for a collection in the south maybe 15 years ago that had every rare cone - at least the 12 and quarts. The owner was anonymous to me as I did the appraisal through an intermediary. I'm not familiar with the NC reference. There ...

Re: Jefferson club soda

This is a strange situation where I don't think rarity was reflected in price. The last few Jefferson Club cans that have showed up, had almost no interest, selling below $10, including a 1+ orange of mine that sold for $7.27 in 2014. Given that, I'm not sure these still qualify as R3 cans, but they...

Finally picked up the Packer's imitation grape! Paired with my low cal cola, I believe these are the only two known Packer's cans. Is anyone aware of any others? Packer's supermarkets were purchased by Bohack in the mid 1960's. These cans show lids consistent with the early 60's.

New, earlier Zip can generation

Picked this up recently. There was also a cola that I did not get. Silver slowed bottoms - seems like the zip code Zips all had grey lids. Could be an earlier generation. Notice the rectangular frame around the brand name, rather than the ovals seen on the other examples. DT z60-1igs-1zip-DT.jpg z60...

Re: Group of Pantry Pride cans

Thanks, but one better is... if you remove both lids and slightly adjust the flange location, you can hide the teeth marks. I just don't have the equipment to reflange.
