Re: Dixie Beer Test or Misprint can?
Sorry I'm a little late to the party on this one. I have numerous Dixie misprints from the 70's, some of which are pictured here. I'm not sure about all of the misprints out there, but most of mine I got directly from a brewery employee that used to sell them at the Mardi Gras Chapter shows at the D...

Here are my Houston Budweiser 12 and 10 ounce cans that I have on display. I have numerous newer cans that were brewed in Houston as well in the can closet.

Re: Bottom opened vs. air sealed
Air sealed cans were for sale in most Brewery gift shops from the 60's on. I still have cans that were purchased at the Pearl, Lone Star and Dixie Breweries in the late 70's when visiting as a kid. As for eBay pictures, I state the can is air sealed in the description, but simply add two black dots ...

Re: Just arrived in San Francisco Where to eat?
Back when I used to travel frequently to San Fancisco, I used to hang out at the San Francisco Brewing Company in North Beach. The location has been a saloon since the mid 1800's and it was a cool old bar with many of the original fixtures, including the porcelain pee trough that ran the length of t...

Re: Do LED or Incandescent lights affect color?
Light is light is true to the extent that all light will eventually fade beer cans and signs over time. However, different types of light effect items in different ways. Direct sunlight is most damaging so if you have sunlight hitting items in your beer room directly, the items will fade rather quic...

Re: Seen on the side streets of Kansas City
Did the store leave the painted line? Nice point of interest/history if they did. No. Shortly after beer & wine sales became legal in Lewisville, the store was rearranged to make optimum use of the existing floor plan and the red line was removed. You can't tell that there was ever an issue. - ...

Re: Seen on the side streets of Kansas City
The state line in Kansas City is pretty crazy as it snakes its way through the city. Not a state line issue, but a city line issue in my area of DFW. There is a large gas station with a big beer selection. Part of the structure was in Lewisville, Texas and the other part was in The Colony, Texas. Le...

Re: This might help you mail a box more cheaply
If you ship on eBay, make sure you sign up to print your labels through eBay. The savings is worth it and all you have to do is drop the box off at the PO and not wait in their long lines. I save at least $1 - $2 on small boxes that fit one to two cans. That adds up when you ship 10 cans or so a wee...

Re: Black Label Ft Worth?
Any particular difficulty with Black Label cans that include Fort Worth in the list of plants from the brief period it was open and producing? In my opinion, Black Labels with Fort Worth listed as one of the breweries, but not the actual brewing location are common. Carling listed the Fort Worth br...

Re: Black Label Ft Worth?
Now we need someone to post a Gold Band one! I believe the "gold band" Fort Worth can in the USBCII is a mistake. I have never seen one, and I have not heard any rumors of one existing. The Black Label gold band can was produced from the many other Carling locations in the late 60's / ear...

Re: Black Label Ft Worth?
They are out of there, but they are tough! They are found from time to time around the DFW area. I have heard stories of hundreds of them in a famous east Texas dump that is on private property, but diggers were more concerned about the flats and cones, and left the zips. As far as the Black Label z...

Thanks, but as an avid Dixie collector, I've had one for a number of years.
Now that the brewery has changed its name and no longer sells Dixie Beer, it is a great time to sell that sign!

Re: Ebay AI taking auctions off for not showing how the can was empty again
I have had this happen so much that I started to "add" drainage holes to my photos of air sealed cans. It is easy to add two small black dots on my phone's photo editor to make it look like cans have been opened with an ice pick. Also, you can simply give your can a church key punch and ch...
