Re: Does Anyone Know About Old Paintings?
I decided to get them restored and framed through a professional art gallery, taking the chance that my investment will pay off. Right now it's about 150 each on the framing. Not sure about how much cleaning and and repairing is needed, but it doesn't look like much. They are already at the gallery....

Does Anyone Know About Old Paintings?
I bought a couple of rolled up painting for $3.00 a a yard sale several years ago. They were rolled up together and are Oil on Canvas. No these are not printed. They are both landscape scenes and are signed by the artists. One is on an 19"X 22" canvas, and is signed Dixan The other is on a...

Extending My Brewania Collecting
Rarely do I see beer cans at tag sales. Even after asking I've never received a yes they have some, so... I'm delving into a slightly different direction of collection without eliminating the need for the cans and started buying beer glasses. After noticing one at a tag sale I reached out to pass my...

New Beverage Container Issue
Monster Energy Drinks has release a very odd container that I am having an issue with. The lid is a tradition aluminum type, but I don't want to open it from the top. The rest of the container is made of a transparent plastic composition. Any suggestions as to how I should open these things from the...

Lefty's Brewing Company - Closing!
Those who live in the region where Lefty's is distributed should grab up some cans while you can! I have a collection I've been building for myself and bought a double of each can I have to trade. The brewery is only a mile away from where I live and is very small compared to the major breweries. ht...

Re: A Metal Detecting Find
There are some very expensive traps out there due to their rarity. There are price scales placed on them and books dedicated towards them as pricing guides. Highly collected are the bear traps! I have never done a census on how many collectors are out there for these this, and doubt anyone else has ...

It's looking like I won't find a name on it. It's pretty pitted where the manufacture mark should be, but I do plan on carefully cleaning it!

A Metal Detecting Find
Nudie Beach in VT was pretty bare today as you can see. And speaking of bear, I found this antique trap in the woods behind the beach. Looks too small to be a bear trap, but still it's a nice find!

MISSISSIPPI MUD Black & Tan Bottles
I don't think this is a craft beer and is a fairly modern topic 22 years or so but a lot seems to have happened to the labeling and the caps. I noticed there a few label & Cap variations of the MISSISSIPPI MUD BLACK & TAN BEER. How many I do not know. I could not find any like mine on eBay, ...

Re: Applied Label Craft Beer Cans
I find that getting the right cans is going to be a challenge because not many micro breweries can afford to but their product into truly painted beer cans. These are very small operations on the most parts. Wrap can labels are the next best thing to the applied labels and is step down from the pain...

Re: Applied Label Craft Beer Cans
I was surprised when I was told it was okay to break open a pack to get one. They have a really large selection of Micro Brew beer cans, probably one of the biggest in region. I'm thinking if the can is offered with a paper label, it would be short lived. Then if the brew is successful within that s...

Applied Label Craft Beer Cans
Today I bought my 1st 3 micro brewery/craft beer cans without putting any real thought to it (impulsive). I did not inspect the cans when I was at the package store. When I got home I immediately noticed a flaw. Those selected for the start of my collection were cans with applied labels as oppose to...

Re: will micro brews resurrect beer can collecting?
I decided to resurrect this older post because it is an interesting question! No I don't think it would show obvious signs of revitalizing the hobby. But... it might over time, gradually draw some into the hobby so that it doesn't go to the point of near extinction! Recently I started looking in the...

Re: Where you digging FIRST?
I've had a three big dump hits in an area in Vermont but there has to be something better than cans from 50's/60's. This area has always been popular for hunting, fishing, camping, party roads and other outdoor activities. My best finds have been by scatter-dumping and a hunch, so maybe this area wi...

Re: New England Ale Variation Q:
yoerg4 - You might be right! But this is very uniform and doesn't look banged on! Yours were probably banged with a ball-peen or something but I'm sure mine was made this way! All they had to do was lay the con-caved lid inward on top of the cans going down the line, then the machine seals it! To me...

I agree with you Scott! I never heard of stories, or of in anyone's memories, where guys use to bang on there beer cans for no apparent reason! I've heard of salt in beer, and pretzels and beer memories, quite frequently!

Re: New England Ale Variation Q:
The only reason I'm thought it might have something to do with transition period, is because the top is shaped like the con-caved base of a cone top can! (That was for those who don't see this) Or just for the laughs, maybe they ran out of the flat lids and used old cone bases stored away to get the...

New England Ale Variation Q:
Does any one know what the 3rd known variation of the FT New England Ale can is? If a can is produced differently, that would also be a variation, right? If so is this the 3rd known varition or is this a 4th unknown variation? I'm thinking it's from the transitional period where the can production w...
