Re: canning line dings/dents

Canning dents are small dents just below the rim of the lid caused by the pressure of the can lidding machine when the lid is applied. The machine cannot differentiate between slightly varying can body heights it set up to make them all the same height. They also occur during shipment of product......

He probably figured that nobody would steal his tools if they thought that they were getting Pabst. Now Miller would have been another story. I am trying to picture a Miller roof top carrier on a GTO!

We have moved couple of these in the past few years. Both sold almost immediately In the $7500 - $8500 range. Never seen one break the $10k barrier. There are a fair number of these tied up in collection in this condition or better, not sure how many of each exist. It is just one of those graphic/de...

Re: "no artificial gas" Meister Brau

John,
I know that we have had a few pass through our hands over the years. I don't think that it is as rare as once thought, but in no way is it common or easy to find one. We turn many at shows looking. Great can!

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)

BeerCansPlus sold this can on Ebay for $128, with a $60 price sticker on the bottom. Guess it's a good day when you take a can you've had at countless shows, unsold, and then get double your asking on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Top-Flat-Top-Beer-Can-Tough-Can-New-Top-Lid-Clean-Can-Cin...

Re: Nothing like a little weed killer in your beer......

Not to hijack this post but with more states legalizing marijuana, and craft brewers such as Blue Moon starting to infuse beer with THC, by next year the topic will be nothing like a little "Killer Weed" in your beer instead of "Weed Killer" in your beer!

I would say you would have to look at it under magnification. You should be able to see the edge of the paint if the paint is chipping or has been scratched off.

Not looking very likely that Beer Cans Plus will be there. There is however still a slight chance. Darn job may be getting in the way this year.

I noticed when I travelled all across Michigan's U.P. (upper peninsula) last spring the roads were really nice, felt like I was in another state. Seems like they only really suck real bad around the Detroit area. LEON.
Ask Aho, the UP is a separate country not just another state!

Re: Tab Question , The Actual Tab part ?

My guess, looking at both, it looks like maybe positioning during the striking process or possibly different dies or die wear/adjustment may be the cause of the differences.

As you can see it is there just not as prominent. Some others also that way and some completely flat with aluminum stamped on them. More flat than raised ones.

Re: Tab Question , The Actual Tab part ?

After looking a bit closer while some have a bit of a ridge starting above and ending below the word aluminum, none are as prominent as the one that you have pictured.

Nothing was thrown away. They are all in storage. Trust me we do research cans including aluminum. Usually a lot do make it into the dumpster. We would be happy to sell you what we throw away if there is such great value.

@Mizmo64 Tommy, we had this conversation at South Bend. What are the opinions of the masters of the zip and pull tabs? Without evidence or any research, I think the tops were punched out at places like Reynolds Aluminum/Reynolds Metal and then sent to canning companies. If that is the case, then to...
