Re: 2019 canvention

2019 will be in Albuquerque. Not sure of the dates, but think it is August 29-31. Also, the 2020 Canvention will be the week after Labor Day in St. Louis.

Ok, let’s see what happens to a can. I do not think that it will hurt the paint.

I have been thinking about this solution for a while. I tried the internet, but did not find a good, easy solution.

Good luck.

Re: Want list for Supplement pictures

Jim Wolf will be publishing the list of 14-15-16 oz. tab tops not in the supplement later this week. He added a number of photographs at the show this weekend. With those additions, we are down to 50-60 unphotographed cans. Most of the missing cans are uncommon variations of common brands such as Sc...

Re: Ohio Mini-CANvention Pics and pick-ups

Great show. From my work with Jim Wolf on the digital USBC tab top book, we are down to about 100 14-15-16 ounce cans that we have not been able to rephotograph with 5 images. Almost all of these are uncommon variations of common brands such as Budweiser, Schlitz, Falstaff, Old Milwaukee, Hamms, etc...

Note on the one day membership - that gets you in the door on Saturday and allows you to buy, not sell cans. It is required because of some funky local regulations.

Re: Extruded steel Black Label same collection not in book

This is another example of cans that were produced just before the book was published. Our experience going through the 16 oz. cans was that there are a lot more of the late Black Labels than were included in the book. Given the lid on the can you are showing, was this a test can? Regardless, please...

One of my earliest memories is of Busch Gardens in FL. Also, we were there about 20 years ago and a seagull stole my sisters pizza just outside the beer garden.

I want the Keystone tomato juice can. It is from the local (mostly grape producing) cooperative where my grandfather and uncle were president for many years. Please let me know what you want.

Much thanx.

Re: A new ZIP for the book!

Jim Wolf is in charge of the digital composite supplement. Best if you can bring them to Omaha to get photographed unless you will be on the east coast.

He is 86% done with the 14-15-16% cans. Are the same variations there? These are subtle enough that we likely missed them.

Thanx.

If you look thru USBC I, you will find some cases where cans are listed separately if they have a “BOCK BEER” on the lid. With the digital supplement, I think it was determined that we would not include any of these cans. One of the reasons is the relidding of cans as noted above. As for how I handl...

Note that leaving them in front of the window will bleach the colors out, especially if it is a south facing window. Also, you will quickly realize that you will want to have the shelves closer together. If you don’t, the collection will grow too large too fast (it may anyways, but at a slower pace).

Re: a question of freezing

I think there are levels to this. First, the beer may start to freeze in the can and that may effect the future taste of the beer. Second, the beer may freeze enough in the can that it causes the can to stretch. Typically you may see the bottom bulge first. Finally, it freezes enough to burst the ca...

I would look at the language in the state laws that required the disclosure. Different states may have different required verbiage.
