Re: Had a great time at thye Zion Crossroads Show today!

That's one of the more common variations. The really tough ones are the "Just For Fun" and especially the "Handy Way to Order." I didn't even know that one existed until recently. These make a really cool set!

Re: Another Which One Would You Keep? Leisy's Cone Top

I vote on the left here too. The fronts are pretty darn similar looking, and although the front of the right can may be a tiny bit better, the backs are no comparison. And hey, if you're looking for someone who would love a donation of the can on the right … both are super nice!!

Rand, I have been reading all your replies on this thread and it seems like you've put a lot of thought into this, and that you are happy and at peace with your decision. That makes it pretty obvious to me you made the right one! Back about 30 years ago, I was put in a situation where I failed an ex...

Re: ANOTHER ONE FOR THE BOOK

This can actually IS in the book--it's shown as 92-28 from Azusa and 94-1 from Vancouver. It's not shown from San Francisco, but since this design does come in 11 oz. from San Francisco, it probably does exist in this variation. It's an easy to overlook variation and a tough one to get. There's also...

Re: IVE NEVER SEEN A GOLD ONE

I'm pretty sure the color on the gold can is just tarnished. That particular color variation drives me nuts on dumpers--very often a silver can will tarnish to a gold color, and a gold can will fade to silver. If anyone out there checks that color difference on dumper Schlitz or Hamms tabs from the ...

Re: We will be busy for a while

I am guessing you'll find more interest in some of those than cans from the 70's. So many collectors weren't keeping stuff from the 90's that there's basically NO supply of certain oddball issues. I am personally looking for a few govt. warning cans that were out for just a few months or a year then...

Re: We will be busy for a while

To try to sell something for only a buck or two is not worth all the time it takes to do so. Figure taking pictures of all sides of the can, then cropping and naming the photo, then posting it online...and the winning bid is a whole dollar. Ebay/Paypal will take 13%. Now I have to find a box and pa...

The Lucky's are probably worth trying to sell, but I doubt they'd bring much more than a buck or two … not a real scarce can. You're not so badly off crushing them for the aluminum.

Having lived near Detroit until I was 8 years old, I am always absolutely astonished by the statistic that there are supposedly some 70 to 80 THOUSAND abandoned buildings in Detroit … Imagine if just one percent had some salvageable cans in them. That's 700 to 800 buildings! Go Leon!!

Connecticut kept changing the drinking age from 18, to 19, to 20, to 21--at EXACTLY the same time I was turning 18, then 19, then 20, then 21 back in the early 80's. Some years I was a couple months to the good, at least once I was underage for a month or so. I seem to remember buying Busch at the s...
