Re: An old beer is coming back!

There are already at least four different cans out this year in CT. I wasn't too impressed with their Lager but haven't tried the other products yet.

Re: Another "anything here" thread

Seems to me that someone will always be willing to take the straight steel cans, even if they're common. If you offer them for the shipping, I'm confident someone on the site will take them.

Barry,

Does that white Mann-Chester in the upper right happen to be a flattop, with original lids? If so please save it for me!

Re: tough bud o/i

I have 28 different Bud OI's, including a few not listed in the book, but this is not one of them. Not one that you see much and it stands out from the others because of the patent information (not a "dots-around-the-bowtie-thingie" variation). Super nice condition too! The $1000 is a nice one too, ...

This site is amazing. I was just thinking the same thing. Just when I thought I was asking a question nobody could possibly answer, Rand comes up with it no time. Maybe next time I should just skip the pictures and ask people to imagine what sign might be sitting on my bench and then tell me what i...

For what it's worth, it took me a LOT longer to find the Skier than all the rest--I had a complete set except for the skier for quite a few years. Let me ask a slightly different question … how do the dull gold/metallic gold cans compare? I seem to see a lot more of the metallic gold than the flat g...

This is the same show that used to be in Valley Forge years ago, right? I attended that one a few times in the late 80's/early 90's when I was a student at Penn State. Great times, great cans, great memories!

That can was actually shown in the Beer Can Collector's Bible from the mid-1970's, can #1673. I've never seen another one and it certainly didn't make it into USBC (didn't check the online supplement). It does look like a legit variation to me. Nice pick-up!

I sure didn't see that one on eBay … GREAT pickup! It's listed as R-10 in the Lilek book (one known), and while obviously there are a few more than one, it's not a lot more. If the great Rand Lindsley never saw one before, enough said!

Same in Connecticut … I believe yesterday was the coldest November day in the 113 years that records have been kept in Hartford. But we'll be back to about 50 degrees on Sunday according to the forecast. Will be April or so before we see 75 again!

Could this be a "crimped steel flat" that was rolled as a straight steel can? If it is rolled it would have to be impossible to figure out how it was "supposed" to have been made, right?

Seems to me that most of these cans have minimal value, probably because there isn't a lot of demand and because there are a LOT of them out there. Would be an interesting specialty for someone looking to do something pretty offbeat! Having said that, I can't remember seeing this particular can befo...

Re: Mid 90's red and white Miller can ?

I am pretty sure I remember that Miller Brewing Co. tried to reposition Miller High Life as a "premium" beer, sort of like Michelob at the time, and to introduce Miller Beer as their "regular" beer, maybe comparable to Budweiser. I am guessing what must have happened is that Miller High Life had bee...
