Ballantine Ales must be a very unusual find out your way. Are they listed in the Cans Dumped By State thread??

Re: Question: First $10,000 tab?

So what would make a US tab can go for $10K? 1. Would it have to be a design that is not commonly available with another lid? 2. Would it have to be a design that is not very similar to one or more commonly available can? 3. Would it have to be all original, the best known example of that can, and ...

I think Rockbob has this right--definitely tougher than some of the other Hamm's tabs, but not a real tough can.

Not very original, but I will also take Clint Bowyer #14 … he and his team looked pretty darn good yesterday.

Re: Falstaff “for Military use only” stamp on lid

There are quite a few of those around. They must have been used a lot in the southeast part of the US, because they seem to appear a lot on 14 oz. cans. Maybe the armed forces had some sort of deal with a brewer or two on that oddball size??

Can't tell you much about that particular Penny. Pat is one of a set of 20 cans from the early 70's. They were out in 330 ml. and 440 ml. versions. They are all pretty common, no more than $5 per can--but it could take quite awhile to piece together a set if you're doing it one can at a time.

Re: Dawson’s (in red letters!) Quart dumper NIB

I'm sure someone else spotted this but no one has commented … the PBR instructional has the red opener on the side, meaning it's from Peoria Heights and not Milwaukee. Not a super rare can, but definitely tougher than the Milwaukee cans and it looks pretty high grade. You have a LOT of nice cans in ...

Re: Help in identifying test cans

Here's what I know about them: Pic 1, Hamm's Blue LIon, tougher export to Japan Pics 2/3, I think those are all regular issue cans Pics 4/5, nice selection of Lone Stars. The "Tall Tex" Beer in the bottom row is pretty tough to find. Pics 6/7, I think the 12 oz. Country Club Ale is a test can, never...

Re: Hamm's Alpen Glen 32-26 and 32-27

I agree the book value sounds a little high, but this is a pretty tough tab from the late 60's/early 70's. You can go quite a long time and not find one available.

Re: Charlotte Motor Speedway - Bank of America Roval 400 - Sunday Sept 30

I've been a pretty regular NASCAR viewer for 20 years or more, and I don't remember a more interesting last lap in any race than Charlotte on Sunday. I loved Kyle Larson squeaking into the playoffs by passing Jeffrey Earnhardt on the last stretch where Earnhardt probably could have beaten him if he ...

Re: Any value in any of these dumpers?

Short answer … YES!! Some nice northeastern stuff there. The Red Fox Beers look reasonable on the front--they're not easy to find even here in CT (my wife knew some of the Largays growing up). Mule Head Ale, Old India Pale Ale, Rheingold Bock, Gansett Draft … good stuff that will draw some interest ...

There are actually two complete sets of four--well, if you want to get really carried away on them, there are actua...

This one is definitely Lilek 854 and not 854A. The wording on the panel to the left of label/right of seam confirms that. In the original book there were "12 or so surviving examples … in generally poor condition." The number you've found here would actually be enough to bump this one down to an R-6...

Retro should resemble the original can. Name with a new design is a new can.
Should the new Falls City cans count? New labels but the old Falls City logo on the front.
