I got what I assume was the same e-mail (I deleted it without opening it). I'm in WV and don't actively seek Northwest flats, so I think they aren't very targeted.

Re: A 3.2% can database?

Every can sold in WV from 1945 to 1980 was 3.2%. Every flat top and pull top can from 1950 to 1980 had a 3.2% WV tax lid on it. I have over 600 cans with a WV tax lid in my collection. WV tax WIED-2.jpg Thats just one state. Some other states that had 3.2 beer had more brands for sale that West Virg...

Re: What would you drink back then?

I'd have to try a PK from Mountain State or a Black Diamond from North Pole, but those are way back local brands you all have never heard of. For a name brand, I'd like to try a Red Top, my Dad always said it was his beer of choice, more for the price than the taste (he didn't really care for beer),...

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE

It has a wide seam, and is a National Can Co. can. Both that design and 2-100-33-0 (the National Can Co. design with red letter "Brewed and Packed by") are commonly, but not always, paint overs. I did find a Whitman and Lords under one, but usually found pop cans.

Re: online bcca usbc supplement site

In my limited, non-tech experience, the new cans database works much better if you enter it after logging in to bcca.com, rather than directly into the supplement page. The other databases work okay either way, but the new can database, not so much.

The 2 Brewing Co. of America Black Label cans just come from different can plants? (I probably save more fine line differences than I should.

I agree with your impression of the can design. When I first saw it, I thought it was an off brand also. Don't really care for its taste either. Of course, my favorite years ago was Upper 10 (that's an obsolete brand for you).

Mickeys was okay, except the more of them you drank the more beer you slopped out trying to open those big pull top lids. If I was going to drink a Malt Liquor back in the 70's I stuck with Country Club. Well, I think Carlsberg Elephant was labeled a Malt Liquor, but I didn't consider it one.
