I just found a vanity lid variation to go with my earlier can (thanks Dave Wheaton!)

The Hopfeiser was shellacked but where you going to get one for less than that?

Also, here’s a bunch of pics that Marc Tracy took of their collection in 1998.

Here’s mine. Also a matching Stout ML.

I agree with Leon and Chuck. That said still took me a long time to acquire either in fan tab.

I was watching a recent documentary on Apollo 11 and saw this single crimp Busch ALL ALUMINUM CAN.

An earlier scene showed a lady drinking a SS multi diamond Coke tab top.

I'm late to the party but thought this web page with tons of documentation, patents and research on the development of the beer can is worth bringing up again. I didn't find anything on Philip L. Thompson but he spent a lot of time digging up this information.

The Lewandowksi Brothers had an example in their collection and I've searched high and low for one ever since they sold their collection. (pictured here courtesy of Marc Tracy, circa 1997?) It's 100% legit, verified in part by a "dumper" turning up in a $5 box at a show (thanks Eric Menning). The pa...

I didn't think the point was to award the most disgusting, vomit inducing can design. If that can wins, as an officer I vote that the brewery is getting a plaque with that can engraved on it.

Basically, people should look in every 25 cent box and every “common” collection because there’s lots of sleepers or formerly unknown variations out there. It would be great to have a master list of common cans that were actually filled at other breweries. For instance, I have a common aluminum Red ...

Dave and I found an inordinate amount of coffee pots and kettles this last trip. I have a white one earmarked for my apartment. Also noticed some of the SS tabs have the tops bowed out, similar to these full Canada Dry. I found more unopened cans from the 70s - 2000s this trip than I ever have before

I didn’t look through all the cans in the dump but the ones I did look at were from St Louis. There’s so many cans in that pile that anything is possible. There were some 16 oz Baltimore Colt 45 ring pulls and scads of common Ballantine pint flats as well.
