My wife was there last week. They said there is only one guy left waiting to join his mates in the memorial. Last man standing.

Wow! I got to say that is a great collection you have assembled there. Well done. Being a Hawaii guy, that's the sort of thing I can only dream about assembling at my place. Congrats.

Re: An untapped resource
I think I read somewhere along the way that magnet fishing is illegal in Europe (because they are fearful that you will accidentally blow yourself up with whatever you might retrieve from under the water left over from the war)????

Re: Lion Beer Bock
This is a sad story for sure. I really find this upsetting on a personal level as I've been watching this play out. As an aside. I keep thinking about Bill Christenson. Somehow, someway a phenomenal collection is said to have just disappeared into thin air. You got to wonder about these things. On t...

Re: UK conetops
With regard to the UK cones ... bad news is that there about ten that are attainable, and then after that pretty much impossible. You just never, never see them. Even the guys with big bucks to throw around have abandoned the pursuit of the UK cones, as there just aren't any to get. The general thou...

These are certainly scarcer than the regular cans. But with time you can find them. I think I had them all back when I was still collecting high pros, but I know it took some time to find them. Matt

Schlitz Cone Sleeper?
I realized recently that this can may be a bit of a sleeper - a lot tougher than I had realized earlier. It is 183/14 which is a Schlitz Lager with a concave bottom (this one happens to be "Contains 4 and 3/4%". Anyway, I realized when I came across this one that my shelf can was a pretty ...

Jim Hall is so correct about this. U-Permits are huge for some cones variations. For example, check out this variation on my Dawson's Master Ale playing card cones - just finally got the second one from the Dave Reid auction.

Well that's a great statement. Normally I remove the labels on the bottom of the cans ,but in this instance, they are staying on as it actually means something special.

Re: A THANK YOU from The Reid Family
Wow, that was indeed a great auction. Dave had some great cans. There were some really tough minor variations hiding in there. Good news for RB's - I should have a bunch of nice cones going on eBay soon after these upgrades from Dave's stuff. Matt

Can 70s Tabs Make A Come Back?
Just a thought. When I sold my house a few years ago, I had to pull out the attic full of 70s tabs that had been sitting up there for 30 years. Other than the obvious ones that I could sell, I offered to give away the rest - easily more than 1,000 cans, but there were no takers, so they all went in ...

Re: Frustrated and done with collecting!
Ed is right about this. Everybody invariably "hits the wall" on what they collect, and which point it is best to think of something new to add to your collection so you have something to have fun with other than dealing with "the wall". It happens to everyone. Matt

OH NO!!!!! There's another one missing, and I agree that now that we know about that six ounce grape, you have to wonder about the others that at least thus far we didn't know there was a six ounce can. Back to the search! Matt

A Decades Search Comes To An End - Set Completed
On the solid colored C&C cones, I've needed just one forever to complete the set. Finally got it. For whatever reason, the C&C 9 Oz Ginger Ale is like impossible to find. Uncle Roy has had one for years, but I just never could find one. Now it sits proudly with its brothers. The future is up...

So I picked up this Lemp bottle today - in Colorado of all places. I have no idea what it may be worth, but there was no way I was going to let anything Lemp get by me. Who can tell me about this one? Thanks. Matt

You nailed it. All makes sense now. On such a massive undertaking as was done for the book, such minor discrepancies were bound to occur. All cleared up. We can stop looking for that one now. Thanks! Matt

Re: Another Does It Really Exist - Tornbergs
I will bet you that IF it exists, it was not a production can, and that the can we see in Dan's old sales was a rolled can. Just my hunch. Doesn't make sense that they would have had all their other cans with alcohol statements, and then one loner without it.

Wow, that is a beauty. We cannot see the side panel, but I would assume that Dan would get it right with the reference, so that is some proof of existence I think. Matt

Another Does It Really Exist - Tornbergs
Ok, here's another one. Tornberg's Old German Style Cone, 187/3 with no alcohol statement. Does it really exist? I have my doubts. Can anybody confirm knowledge of such a can? Matt

I've had two or three over the years in similar shape to the one in the photos. My guess is form the same find. They both went for something like $400 or so I think. I would have thought it would be more, but that's what it was. Matt

I did not think this was possible - BUT - if there was any can that might appear better painted than not painted - Glueks comes to mind. Take a look:
