Re: Dave Lang cans

Good stuff Ed ! Man thats some story if the known G ROD ALEs were all found together, possibly in the ADKs as the BEER that was also in auction was found in ADKs and then 4-5 more from same dump ... lets see if Tommy LEo recalls how he did the scooping.. I recall a few dump tales from Launt, Greenbl...

Re: Paint over Qwarts and speciifically Eblings beer

Hmm. I had two dumper eblings but both brake fluid. Can’t say I’ve ever seen one out there in nature, not enough data points to guess. Yet, there are some cans largely known from only a single find that would otherwise be practically unknown. Like tayter’s dawson quarts. Perhaps that one big ebling...

Re: Dave Lang cans

The dingle bay in the auction was recapped in Dave’s honorary rustlings, likely 2nd best known and I think it’s the book can. Came from a hillside on the driveway to a ski resort in no if I remember Dave’s story. The OTHER dingles Dave had came from Charlie bacon’s Mid 20th century dump in mass. Wh...

Re: Dave Lang cans

Enjoyed a day drinking day of watching and placed a couple bids but internet bidder got me .. Matt or Aoody or Keith know how he came about the golden rod ale ? I’m well aware of his BEER from his famous Conifer dump .. but the ALE ! I’m pretty sure a famous rusty mid western guy has an ALE. As well...

Would you be able to use your bmv skills and track down a story from around 1980 range of a guy whose name I believe is dick caughey (sp) may have purchased some of the PA crowntainers that were in a picture the Ed Scog posted on face book which was the bill helmbold find .. Re: Any Rheingold variation collectors out here ??

there's a thread somewhere way back... the short H version matches the quart flat (circa 1937-1938 if I remember) and there are a number of tiny differences in the fonts. 12oz one is not in the book but not that much tougher. The postwar white cans had their own variations. Fun stuff! Yes !! It was...

Any Rheingold variation collectors out here ??

At recent can show talking to a guy who has a few nice Scotch Ales and said I think there are some weird letter variations with the Rheingold - like a short H and tall H .. I am pretty sure the Lew twins told me of that 23 years ago and might of had that .. well I am bookless and scotch ale less to...

Another good regional beer story, never knew much about Falls City , i remember as a kid collector in late 70s in FLA one of our friends on his way back from trip found some of the red tabs in the woods near their motel and had to trade hard for one !

Cool history Kamsquared. Always something to learn! I appreciate the advertising being whimsical and the artwork on the can in appreciation of the area. Plus they fought the dreaded Volstead act.... Re: Class Pilsener Over/Under?

Yeah, Marc, I ended up #2 bidder on the rustiest can in the auction. A can I would have no business owning on my modest budget, but who knows if another $50 would have done it. Some relative bargains in there... maybe we've mostly satiated two new guys, or something like it. I'm just glad to see qu...
