Re: CANS THAT EXIST IN CROWNTAINER REGULAR CONE J SPOUT QUART AND FLAT

The 2 breweries that come to mind are Esslingers and Northhampton. I was told once it was because the breweries were trying to find which can sold the best. I don't know how much truth is in that statement, but it sounds good to me, though I do find it a wasteful practice. If the beer is good, what ...

Craft Bock Beer

Howdy all, since spring will rapidly be coming upon us, I have a question. Here in southern California, there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm amoungst local craft brewers to produce a bock beer. Is there a reason for this? Have any of you seen any craft bock beers available in your area? Just wonde...

Is there no military records known that list all cans that were made in olive drab?

It seems every year, we bring up the memory of the lost ship and her crew. The Great Lakes brewing company has now come out with Edmund Fitzgerald Porter as a tribute to the lost ship and crew. Has anybody here tried it? They don't distribute it out west where I am, but they do to many of the north ...

Re: California Lake to be Drained

I called the San Jose water board a few years back to find out when the surrounding reservoirs were built. According to them, they were all built after the end of WW2, so, conceivably, you might find some post war cans at the bottom. Somewhere I read that there 2 towns submerged under Lexington when...

I noticed a fair number of rustybunchers were not at the show, probably due to Raynard's reluctance to give up the show. Get over it guys, he's gone and he's not coming back. His ghost cannot interfere with where the show ends up. We miss you and we'd like you all to come back. Even though it lack's...

Re: LOST or STOLEN Tavern Pale + other flat sheets

I once sent a sign to Steve Gordon, a Blatz bubbler sign. It arrived broken, despite what I considered my best packing job ever (4 nested boxes with insulation between each box). I did everything the post office told me to do, including taking photos of it and the packing material, insuring it, and ...

Sure, I never have much, but I've got a few more cans than I regularly have, including a few instructionals. Matt, I've got a beer and matching pint glass & tap handle that will be waiting for you (all from AleSmith). The beer is free until it runs out.

We're getting close, so I'm just asking who will be there. The new hotel Larry picked is definitely a step up from the old Ramada, but I liked the old gal (the Ramada), despite the fungus, leaky ceilings, plugged up drains and cut telephone lines. Anyways, after missing a few years back (except last...

Re: How many of the rarest cans are only known in off grade condition?

Sorry, I'm late for responding. At a canvention a few years back, Dan Morean had what I considered to be a mint Tru Blu ale quart. Whoever got it off him probably noticed my grubby fingerprints all over it as I was in his room for two or three days fondling it and begging Dan to come down a bit on h...

Ok, my best acquisition was a late year item, a little Carnegie lit clock. I always loved the fat waiter and the little dog at his heals. I've got a quart bottle, tap knob and now the lit clock, so the can is all I need to complete the set. Doesn't matter whether or not if it's the 12oz cone or the ...

Let us not also forgot the Battle of the Bulge fought in Belgium and Luxembourg in December, 1944. The United States suffered the greatest number of casualties during the war in this battle. Today is the 75th anniversary of that great battle.

Well, to each his own. I expected some of you to not be overly thrilled to see this come out, and I can see the point of view, that it's just a "ditto" sign, but considering what the fellow put into it, and putting the "Gilco" logo on the bottom of each, and only making 25 of eac...

Good afternoon all, I stumbled across this line on Facebook. Take a good look at it; it's not a reproduction, at least I don't think so, as I've seen no evidence that this sign was ever produced in the past. It's not what I would call a fake either, so what would I call it? How about a novelty piece...
